Windows that work, and stay dry.

Drafty, fogged or hard-to-open windows are worth fixing. Sometimes that means new windows. Sometimes it means fixing the sill, trim and flashing so the window you have keeps working.

What we do

Windows

  • Replacement windows
  • Rotted sill, trim and brick mold repair
  • Flashing and sealing to keep water out
  • Interior and exterior trim finish work
  • Changing an opening, such as a window to French doors

Repair or replace? An honest answer.

If a window opens, closes and locks, the glass is clear, and the frame is solid, it may only need new sealant, trim or a sill repair. That costs far less than a new window.

Replacement makes sense when the frame is rotted, the glass is fogged between the panes, or the window no longer operates or seals. Either way, the flashing and trim around it have to be right, or water will keep finding its way in.

FAQ

Common questions

Have a different question? Call (757) 585-4366.

Should I replace my windows or repair them?

If the window still operates, the glass seal is intact and the frame is sound, repairs to the sill, trim or seals may be all it needs. Replacement makes sense when frames are rotted, units are fogged between the glass, or they no longer open, close or lock properly.

Why is the wood around my window soft?

Usually water. Failed caulk, missing flashing or a poorly sloped sill lets water sit against the wood. Replacing the trim without fixing how the water gets in means it will rot again.

Can you turn a window into a door?

Yes. We have converted an existing window opening into a set of French doors. It involves enlarging the opening, supporting the wall above it, and finishing the inside and outside cleanly.

How long does a window replacement take?

It depends on how many windows and what we find around them. We give you a realistic schedule in the estimate and keep you updated if anything hidden changes it.
